One of the greatest commandments we have ever
received from Jesus is "love one another." A
true family is formed through love, not only
by relation, but by relationship. God designed
the Church as a place where people can come together
and not only find fellowship with each other,
but also develop a satisfying relationship with
the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus desires a friendship
with us. It is because he loved us that he was
willing to endure the Cross to have everlasting
fellowship with those who believe. Through this
great act of love, we are living in a New Covenant
between God and man.....a Covenant of Grace;
hence, we call ourselves a Covenant Family.
At
Severn Covenant Church, we treat each other like
family not only because God has called us to
do so, but because we genuinely love each other
like family, and welcome all who wish to be a
part of the Covenant Family.
"Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down his life for His friends...you
did not choose me, but I chose you..." John 15:13 & 16
