| Severn Covenant's thoughts on Home Groups |

We at Severn Covenant Church strongly encourage all attending SCC to participate
in a Home Group. The reasons for this are that spiritual maturity can be attained
and Home Groups are biblical. Refer to Romans 16:5; Matt 18:20; 1 Corinth 16:19,
Col 4:15 and Phil 1:2. Home Groups are where a smaller group of believers
meet together in a host home to provide one-on-one personal care, encouragement,
opportunities to serve, use of spiritual gifts, discipleship, spiritual growth,
prayer, worship, Bible Study, evangelism and heart to heart sharing.
In the
larger celebration assembly on Sunday at the Severn Covenant Church building,
it is very difficult to experience some of these aspects of Christian life.
The early church was born on the day of Pentecost and met in homes, not
in church structures as we know them today.
If you would like to attend a home
group, below is an outline of our current home groups with points of contact,
locations and times. Be sure to call
the home group leader first, to ensure home group is still scheduled for the
night in question:
