Ministry means, "to serve". You can serve in different ways,
in fact there
are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving.
The Holy Spirit displays God's power through each of us as a means of helping
the entire church. All of you together are the one Body of Christ and each one
of you is a separate and necessary part of it.
The SCC (Severn Covenant Church) has brought together the Covenant Family
to serve our members with different ministries that will encourage our members.
These ministries include:

Celebrate Recovery - SCC's Celebrate
Recovery is based on God's Word, the Bible. Through God's Word, SCC enables
those struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups to form healthy relationships
with God and others so they may experience freedom and forgiveness through
Christ.
A man is
slave of anything that has conquered him. ( 2 Peter 2:19 )
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12 Step Recovery
Program. We meet on Saturday Night in the main sanctuary at 7pm. We start
with Praise and Worship, followed by a teaching on a recovery step or
principal, and then break up into confidential women and men only small
groups where we can freely discuss our struggles. Come get free and Celebrate

Women's Ministry -
The women's ministry is designed to organize periodic events for the fellowship
and spiritual growth of the ladies. Whether your gift is administration, cooking,
arts or crafts, teaching, helps or service, there is always room to support
the women's ministry team.
Planning is already underway for this years Women's Retreat, September 28-30 held at Wabanna Conference Center in Mayo, Maryland. There are lots of opportunities to serve at this event! If you are interested, please send an email to:

Tambourine and Dance - Every Monday Night at 7pm, ladies meet in our fellowship hall to practice tamborine dance and techniques to honor the Lord in worship. Please feel free to join.

Nursery - our little ones under age 3 recieve tender loving care each Sunday as well as a teaching about God's creation and Jesus' love. Volunteers are rotated on a bi-monthly basis. Please sign up to assist in this important ministry.

Sunday School - Love for the Lord, Jesus Christ, and a mature and joyful heart are all that's needed to get involved in this ministry overseen by Mike Alexander, an Elder.

Worship - Severn has three worship teams that rotate regularly. Their styles vary from traditional and jewish celebration to contempary and rocking christian music. We invite you to come worship with us every Sunday at 10:30am. If you play an instrument or sing and have a heart to use your gifts and talents for the Lord, contact Mark Rossi, the Elder oversight for worship, to express your interest.

Men's Ministry - The men's ministry includes Sunday Morning Prayer at 7am at the church, annual breakfasts and retreats. email deanf@severncovenant.org for more info. |

Youth Ministry - SCC will provides girls and boys youth ministries for ages 13-15. A young adults ministry is provided for 16-18 year olds. |
